Spinout companies
Supporting enterprise and research commercialisation is one of our key strengths. Through working with Leeds Innovations (the University of Leeds' former technology transfer company), Techtran Group (the University's preferred commercial partner), AIMES (Advanced Internet Methods and Emergent Systems) in Liverpool and other membership and umbrella organisations, we have helped promote more than 100 spinout companies and fledgling commercial ventures.
These companies' innovations originate from a huge range of disciplines, from technologies and services created by engineering, biological sciences and computing departments through to enterprises spinning out of arts and social sciences faculties. From start-up to AIM listing, we're well versed in dealing with companies at different stages in their growth cycle.
Our experience of working in both academic and business environments means that we are well placed to understand the issues faced by spinout companies, particularly with regard to intellectual property and the appropriate timing of public relations activities.
